The Nosgoth Free Weekend is a four day special event, where anyone can play Nosgoth for free and earn rewards for taking part.

The Free Weekend starts August 7th 2014 at 12PM BST / 1PM CEST / 7AM EDT / 4 AM (midnight) PDT and ends at midnight August 10th 2014 PDT (8AM BST / 9am CEST / 3AM EDT on August 11th 2014)

You’ll need a Steam account, be over 18 years of age, and live in a region where we have server support, or be an existing Closed Beta player.

We have servers in Rotterdam, Los Angeles and Virginia at present which supports users across all of Europe and North America.

Everyone that plays during our Free Weekend will receive double XP during the promotion. All players will also receive a special Free Weekend badge. This is the only way you will be able to get this badge, so make sure you play during this weekend!

All users who launch Nosgoth during the promotion will receive a Free Weekend badge. The badge will appear in your inventory shortly after the weekend finishes.

We are currently targeting Winter as a release for our Open Beta. Winter for this purpose runs from late December to late March. A specific date will be announced closer to the release.

We want to ensure the best possible experience for users when we move to Open Beta this Winter and running a Free Weekend will help us replicate elements of this transition and learn from it. We also want to gather more feedback from players at this time to understand how we can improve Nosgoth and create as good an experience as possible before Open Beta.

Nosgoth now has an in-game tutorial to help new players and we’d recommend anyone joining during this weekend for the first time takes time to play this through. It shouldn't take 10 minutes and will help you with basic movement, controls and abilities.

For more advance tactical guides we’d suggest checking out the Guides & Tactics forum pages here

Once the Free Weekend has finished players will have a choice as to what happens next.

If you previously had access to Nosgoth, nothing will change for you, and you retain your access to the Closed Beta. You will now have an exclusive badge and will have earned Double XP for taking part.

If you did not previously have access to our Closed Beta, you will no longer be able to access the game after the Free Weekend ends but we will save your progress against your Steam profile should you want to come back to Nosgoth at Open Beta.

If you liked what you experienced and don’t want to wait until Open Beta you can either register for access to the Closed Beta, or you can become a Founder which grants you immediate access to the Nosgoth Closed Beta.

If you purchase any Runestone packs during our Free Weekend but did not previously have access to Nosgoth, you will now be granted permanent access to the Closed Beta.

Anyone who purchases a Founders Pack at any time, including during the Free Weekend is granted immediate access to the Nosgoth Closed Beta.

All progress made during the Free Weekend is saved on your Steam profile should you want to carry on playing Nosgoth at a later date.

Nosgoth is available on Steam on PC.
Users will need a Steam account and be registered for Square Enix Membership.

With any new basic Nosgoth account, a few things are unlocked right away. You will have access to several classes, as well as abilities and weapons for them, to get you started.

Other classes can be unlocked with Access Tokens, or using Runestones. For every five levels you gain, you will receive one Access Token for free that you can use to unlock another class. Abilities and weapons for each class can be unlocked with Gold and Runestones. Gold can be earned during every round of Nosgoth you play, and it’s possible to purchase temporary versions of each one, so you spend less gold, instead of unlocking them permanently.

The version of Nosgoth you have access to during this weekend is no different to the game that anyone with basic permanent access can play. No classes, abilities, weapons, or maps are locked out or removed for this weekend.

If you played Nosgoth during the Free Weekend and would like to give us feedback, we are happy to hear it! Feedback is invaluable during the Closed Beta stage of development, and we’d love to hear what you thought of your time in Nosgoth. Check out our official Forums here:
