Absolutely not – Nosgoth is set on its own distinct era of the Legacy of Kain timeline and knowledge of prior events, while empowering, is by no means necessary. All you need to know is that the two factions involved – Humans and Vampires – are locked in a bloody struggle to control the land of Nosgoth, a land they both share and call home.

The studio's first game was the highly successful Onslaught for Unreal Tournament 2004, a game mode Psyonix concepted and designed. Afterwards Psyonix took its experience in multiplayer and rapid gameplay development to work on such titles as Gears of War, Unreal Tournament 3, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, Homefront, Bulletstorm, and Mass Effect 3. The studio has grown significantly since the early 2000s and continues to specialize in game development for next-gen consoles, PC, and mobile platforms.

Yes, Nosgoth is a Free-To-Play game. When we enter Open Beta, Nosgoth will be available at no cost. We made the decision to go to free-to-play to break down barriers and let as many players into the game as possible. Nosgoth is NOT 'Pay-2-Win' - One of our key goals has been to create a fair experience that doesn't penalise players who don’t spend money in the game.
